If I add the "Send" button to the Like module then it flows over the limit of the box and it does not seem to respect the width property set on the module setup page.
I have all the latest updates installed.

The JFBFan module seems not to have an independing module. What is the difference between Like and Fan?

Rolf,
If you're using the "Standard" mode of the Like button, there is a minimum size that's about 250 that has to be used when enabling the Send button. The standard Like button has some extra text for "x of your friends also likes this". If you switch to the Button count or Box count modes, the width is actually ignored as it there is only a fixed size for the buttons in those modes.

As for the JFBCFan module, I'm not sure what you mean by "not to have an independent module"? There is both the {JFBCFan url=xyz} tag and a separate JFBCFan module you can use. The Fan module itself is meant to work with a specific Facebook Fan Page, like www.facebook.com/SourceCoast When used, it can let you show the admin stream from your Page as well as let user's Like your FB Page from within your site.

Hope that helps explain everything, but if you still need help, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the reply

On your page www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/features/...la-facebook-like-box
Is displayed a fan box with larger images and a different layout than I have on www.occupyworldstreet.org/

How do I get a box on my page like that?

When not using "standard" the faces disappear on my page.
When using standard the text flows sometimes beyond the boundary of the panel depending on the length of the names quoted (try refreshing a few times). I do not seem to be able to control it.

In the joomla admin section under "modules" there is nothing called "JFBC fan" or similar on my installation. It seems from your reply that there ought to exist a module like this.
If I filter the modules with "jfb" I get 5 modules: Send, Recommend, Recommendations, Friends and Like
No fan module :o(

I appreciate your help.

Regards, Rolf

Rolf,
When you download JFBConnect and unzip it, there's a separate file in there called something like jfbconnect_social_modules_unzip_first.zip. When you unzip that file, you'll find all of the additional modules you can install with JFBConnect, including the JFBCFan module. You can either use that JFBCFan module or you can use the {JFBCFan url=http://www.facebook.com/SourceCoast} (with your Fan Page URL)

So, once you get that going, you can show the faces, wall posts from admins, and other information about your Facebook Fan Page instead of using the standard Like button like you're using now.

If you still have questions about the Like button after you get that going, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Hi again

I am sorry if I have been unclear. I have of course installed the module you refer to.

After succesful installation the system says:
"This is the "Like Box" module that goes with the JFBConnect component, which enables users to like your Facebook Page and view its stream directly from your website"

In the modules list there is nothing called anything with "Fan".

Question: Should there be a modules names something with "Fan" in it?
Just to be very specific...

After you install it, if you can't find it in your module manager, that just means you haven't implemented any instances of it. To add a new instance, hit the "New" button. Then, look for it in the list there. You should see the JFBCFan module. It's "type" is JFBCFan.

Hope that helps!
