Plans for Joomla 3.0

Glad you found that post. We're very, very excited about Joomla 3.0, but aren't going to rush into supporting it. Joomla 1.5 development will be over for us with the next big release, and then we'll be focused on J2.5/3.0 exclusively. That will allow us to really clean some things up and take advantage of some new features. Should be exciting, but will take a few months to get there.

In the meantime, as many, many sites (and even Joomla.org recommends itself), 3.0 shouldn't really be used by the average production website. Wait till 3.1 for things to stabilize and more extensions (like ours) to be available in the meantime.

As always, we will have only one subscription per extension, so if you subscribe now, you'll have access to the Joomla 1.5, 2.5, and 3.x versions that are available (or become available) during your subscription period.

The blog post that Ian links to is the main information we have to share. We're planning to have v4.3 of JFBConnect out in late October or November, and then will be working on the 5.0 release after that. The 5.0 release is what will be compatible with Joomla 3.0 and the plan is to have it out by end of year or sometime early next year before Joomla 3.1 is available.
