Hi,

the JFCBLike-Module is set to "standard" and "show faces: yes". Although there are a few likes, only my face ist visible (my own like ;-))
What can I do?

Regards

Fritz

Fritz,
The Like button will only show the faces of the friends of the user that is logged into Facebook. The idea is to help a user gauge who else, of their friends, likes the current page. It is not meant to promote everyone who likes the page. This is done by Facebook to help add a social context to Like'ing something so that a user really knows if the Like's are more relevant to them.

So, if there are 10 Likes on a page, but you are only seeing your face, that means that 9 other people who are not friends with you on Facebook Like that page as well.

Hope that helps explain!
Alex

Hi Alex,

I understand, but acutally some of my friends liked that article (www.swat-mission.com/index.php/2012-09-10-10-51-23) to help me promote it. So I should see them.
There seems to be another problem

Fritz,
You have another extension that is also inserting Open Graph tags on the page. If you open the HTML on that page and search for "og:", you'll see 2 blocks of tags. The 2nd is from JFBConnect. Not sure what's inserting the first.

Facebook is likely getting confused and attributing Like's to the wrong page. Because of that, what you thought you (or your friend) Like'd may actually be different URLs.

You'll need to only use one extension for Open Graph tags.

Thanks,
Alex

H Alex,

perfect investigative work. Thanks. I did not even know about that plugin. It was Phoca. I disabled it and now the other (maybe disturbing) tag of course is gone.

Anyway and unfortunately I still can only see my face (not that I don“t like it but... ;-) )

Whenever you change the Open Graph tags on the page, it can take a few days for Facebook to re-scan and see the changes. To immediately update their cache, you can use their URL Debug Tool:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

That will let you see what Facebook sees about that page and should fix whatever information they see from your Open Graph tags for that page. Any other pages should update automatically after a re-scan occurs.

Hope that helps!

Hi Alex,

no, that did not help. Debugg information seem to be absolutely OK. I still cant see the faces. It must be something different...

Not necessarily. The problem is that the Like button works for the og:url that is set. There were previously 2 og:url's. It's possible (if not very likely) that a user clicked the Like button previously and Like'd whatever the og:url was previously pointing at. Your Like may have gone to the 'other' og:url that was on the page. So, you may not have actually Like'd the same page before. The og:url that was chosen before would depend on user browser and even random things like the load time of the page and when Facebook last saw the page. In other words, you don't know what page you or your friend really Like'd.

Can you have your friend go to the same page now and make sure their Like is properly recorded and then check again?

Thanks,
Alex
