I just downloaded and installed your component thanks to the glowing reviews of it and the support too, well here I am putting the reviews to the test :) I am halfway through the setup process and when I run the error check I get a message back about plugin not detected (JFBCSystem) but on the site check page its all good (as well as in my plugin folder). I saw a couple of forum posts on this but none relate to my issue, not a redirect on homepage and website is built with Joomla. Any ideas would be great. Thank You

I assumed you got site info from user name but just in case I'm runing J! 2.5.6, JFBC 4.2.4, & Jomsocial 2.6.2

Sean,
When I run the error check against your site (http://rf***.com), I see the JFBCSystem plugin as being enabled. However, I am seeing an error that another Facebook extension is enabled. When you open the HTML on your page, if you scroll to the bottom (or just search for all.js), you'll see the second inclusion of the Facebook Javascript library. Whatever extension that is including the Facebook Javascript library again should generally be disabled to ensure no issues.

Other than that, everything looks good on the page. In all honesty, even if you still can't run the error checker for some reason, everything looks good from a manual check... and I wrote the error checker :) So, we can help you fix that if it's not working, but I'd just continue on trying to get things going and just testing.

Hope that helps, but if you need anything else, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Cool I was able to get it functioning with the error checker still finding error, How would I go about tracking down the other program that could be trying to use the FB library? And another question the Boss wants to go though the install steps and see what I did what is the best way to uninstall the component and databases so there is no garbage left behind in files or SQL?

Well nevermind how to properly install, they didn't want to wait and now I need to know how to uninstall the improper way most likely. They rolled back the site databases and not the site and then tried to re-install JFBConnect and page one of setup is covered in errors :( Let me know if I should open a new thread for this issue, if not heard from in few days thats what I'll do.

Yeesh! Few days! We strive to have answers in a few hours. A few days would be terrible (though things do fall through the cracks).

To *fully* uninstall JFBConnect, you should use the Joomla Installer to remove the main component. That will remove the authentication, user and system plugins as well. If you installed any of the modules or plugins, you can uninstall those there too, but they aren't nearly as problematic.

For the database, you'll need to remove the xyz_jfbconnect_... tables from your site manually. We do not remove those tables when you uninstall because configuring JFBConnect and user information is stored there. Many users like to uninstall before re-installing/upgrading. If we blew those tables away, it would be very bad. Our tables are:
xyz_jfbconnect_config
xyz_jfbconnect_notification
xyz_jfbconnect_request
xyz_jfbconnect_notification
Where xyz is your table prefix. If you didn't uninstall properly, Joomla creates information about the extension in multiple different Joomla-specific tables. Those can be a lot more difficult to clean up.

Hope that helps,
Alex
