Topic-icon Intermittent Loading Problems with All Social Plugins

Hey Alex,

In the last month, I've been having some intermittent problems with facebook plugins not loading my site. The loading problem happens in all browsers, but IE seems to be the most touchy. Sometimes the social plugins load, sometimes they don't (like button, like box & comments). Attached are two screenshots of what I was seeing in IE 9 earlier today.

I've run auto tune and everything is set to the recommended settings. The facebook JS and fb-root are only being loaded once on the page. I'm not sure if it's a plugin issue... the "Content - JFBCContent" plugin is the first to load in the "Content" section, and the "System - JFBCSystem" plugin is the 3rd to load, right after "System - Fabrik" and "System - RokCommon".

Anything suggestions on how to fix this and make it load more reliably?

JFBC 4.2.4
PHP 5.3.5

Ryan,
First off, sorry for the delayed response! It's definitely strange and not something I can recreate. However, I do have a possible idea. Are you logged into Facebook and using the "Use Facebook As.." feature where it's like your browsing the web as a Facebook Page, or anything other than your normal FB profile?

The light scheme button will normally show some weird text and look sort of like your image if you aren't logged in as a profile. The dark scheme Like button has some issues though, and sometimes looks like that image. It's the best I can guess, and may explain why it's just IE (you may have FB setup that way just in that browser).

Let me know if that doesn't sound right and we can look more into it. You may also want to try the light colorscheme, just out of chance to see what it does.

Finally, that infographic looks great! The voting buttons at the bottom weren't in the right voting area though. They were all right together, but did start in the left-most voting box. Using Chrome on Mac, just so you know.

Hope that all helps!
Alex

Good thought, but unfortunately, I was not using the moderator view in facebook. Several of my colleagues have seen this too, both at their work computer and their PC at home. So I don't think it's related to that, or some firewall setting at our office. But I can try the light color scheme, if you think that might help diagnose the issue.

And thanks for the kudos on the infographic! It took a lot of time to put together, but it came out really nice. Thanks for the tip on the Like button positioning.... I haven't seen that before and I just checked on my iMac using Chrome, everything was positioned correctly on my screen. I'll keep an eye on it, hopefully I can recreate the issue so it can be fixed.
