Hello
I have also a problem placing social Tags. They show as text. I guess it has somthing to do with some global settings.
Sorry but just starting with Joomla 2.5...
I have placed one on my homepage: vmwaredirectory.com see the {JFBCLogin} just below the title
Regards

Manfred

Manfred,
No worries about the questions. That's what we're here for! If the raw tags are showing, that usually means one of the following:
* You have the System - Cache plugin enabled. If so, please make sure it is ordered last (highest number). After you change the ordering, make sure you clear Joomla's cache.
* You've specified an Admin Render Key in the Social -> Misc tab of JFBConnect. If you have set one, let's say it's "11234", then when you add the tags, you'll need to enter them as {JFBCLogin key=1234} That will help prevent your users from adding the Facebook social widgets where you don't want them.

Hope that helps, and if you need anything else, just let us know. We're looking into your other Mosets Tree posts as well, just so you know!

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex

System Cache was and is disabled. There is no Render Key defined. Could it be a global setting of Joomla?

Manfred,
I've honestly not heard of that issue before then. The tag looks perfect. The content area it's contained in doesn't look to be loaded through Javascript/AJAX which can cause conflicts. Other tags on the page are rendering fine (the SCLogin and social buttons all use the tags as well, they are just being replaced properly).

Would you have any issue sending us admin credentials so we could look into what may be causing the problem further? If so, you can Private Message me by clicking the arrow under my image <
and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks, and sorry for the troubles,
Alex

Manfred,
Thanks for all your patience and access to your site. We found the reason why the tags weren't working on your site. In the Social Configuration -> Misc tab of both JLinked and JFBConnect, there is a setting called "Admin Render Key". In JFBConnect, you had a value there. In JLinked, the value was blank. When both extensions are installed, the value for the Admin Render Key needs to be the same in both. That's an issue that we will be resolving in a future version (we'll likely make it so if both extensions are installed, you can only set the value in one and in the other, it will be greyed out).

When the Admin Render Key is set, let's say to "1234", you need to add the tags like:
{JFBCLogin key=1234}
The reason for the render key is so that on sites where user's can add their own content (like in Mosets Tree on your site), it prevents them from being able to add Like buttons, comment boxes and other social features to their own listings. That way, only you (the admin) can add that content.

I went ahead and set the Admin Render Key to the same value in both extensions. Then, I added the JFBCLogin tag to your "Disclaimer" article. You'll see if you go to that link that the Login Button is there. If you look at the actual Joomla article, you'll see exactly how I added it as well.

Hope that helps explain and gets you going with more of the social functions. Feel free to disable my account for now until more issues arise as well.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and good luck!
Alex
