If you're using the SCLogin module there are options for "Show Logout Button" and "Show Greeting" parameter. If those are enabled and you're not seeing the logout button or greeting, let us know.
If you're using the {JFBCLogin}, there's no way to show the greeting. However, you can have it show the logout button if you use the {JFBCLogin logout=true} setting.
