The "Autotune" JFBConnect Remote Error Check always fails at the same point:

Test: JFBCSystem plugin is enabled
Fail: Not Detected! Please enable in the Site Config area of Autotune or in the Joomla plugin manager.

I can't get by that point and it says:

If enabled, but you still get this error, please check:
If you have a 'mobile template', disable and re-test
Some templates have their own Facebook integration, and actively try to remove other Facebook extensions files. Try a different template.

No further tests can be run until fixed.

I don't have mobile templates and I tried Joomla's default Beez2 template. JFCB is definitely enabled.

I can't get to the next step although almost all JFBC mods are working as far as I can tell. Would like the checks to complete so that I know everything is in order. and work out the configuration of one mod, JFBCRequest, which either isn't working or I just don't understand the setup.

Any suggestions for how to get to the next step of the Autotune error checking?

Thanks. -- Rik

PS: Using all of the latest versions of JFBC and its mods. Would like to get this in order as my subscription ends in about 3 weeks.

Rik,
The site you're running Autotune on is travel.com. Is that right? That's not even a Joomla site. If that's not right, can you let us know how you're accessing your site? Something seems very strange.

Outside of the error check, if everything is working right, that's the most important thing. Of course if you're having problems with the JFBCRequest module, we can help with that too. Just let us know what is (or isn't) happening.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for looking into this.

Our home page is a static index.html webpage. But we have 400K+ Joomla pages in the form of jReviews articles/reviews. If you click on the main menu "Travel Reviews (New)" menu option at the top of any page, that will take you to the Joomla pages.

As for the JFBCRequest module, I may not understand the parameters. I fill in the basic options on the right top side of the module page, but the only thing that shows up on the generated pages (set to "all" but off now) is the module title "JFBCRequest" below which is an underline going across the entire page. There is no Facebook "link" of any sort. I assumed that would be generated from configuration info elsewhere. Am I missing something?

I set the following in the module:

Request ID: 1
Link text: Invite your Facebook friends!
Link image: (I had a temporary url link to a image there).

Rik,
If you're home page isn't a Joomla page, the Error Checker won't work. Just disregard it for now. For now, the Error Checker can only check your home page. We're investigating ways to let it check arbitrary 'interior' pages, but for sites like yours with a custom HTML page for speed purposes, you're in a completely different boat (congrats!). I checked your "reviews" page manually, and everything looks good from what the error checker would look at.

As for the Request module, it sounds like you have it setup right. I'm assuming you created a Request in the JFBConnect area and the ID was actually '1' (which sounds right). I'm not sure why the link would look like how you describe. Is it possible to place that module on some obscure (infrequently visited or even 'hidden') page and send me that link so I can see what's actually happening? We'll gladly do what we can to help you diagnose the problem and get it going how you expect it should work.

Thanks,
Alex

I believe I've got everything working fine now with your assistance. The FB friends request box is now popping up. I didn't realize that I had to go through an additional step of creating a request in the JFBConnect area of the component (I thought I just created that within the module). Now you've got me straighten out and I see that allows for multiple requests to be setup.

Thank you! -- Rik

Rik,
Glad to hear you got it going. The Requests feature is definitely powerful, but can be tedious to setup. The benefits of tracking and such (we fee) is hopefully worth it.

Hopefully, you're all setup now, but if you have any other questions, definitely let us know. Additionally, we love feedback, so please let us know any suggestions you may have.

Finally, when all is said and done, please feel free to submit your site to our "Showcase" forum where you can put in some info about it. We also pick sites from there to go into the Showcase area, of which I'm sure you'd get accepted. The Travel.com name would be a good, high-profile addition to promote the uses of JFBConnect!

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex
