Asking for permission to access education history

Definitely strange. The only profile fields that should require the education permission are ones that start with "Education and Work", and even then, it's only some of those (none of the Work) ones.

Can you go into your Profiles area of JFBConnect and simply hit 'Apply' to re-save any settings? That may help re-load the settings in JFBConnect. If that still requests the permission, please try the following:
* Check the Facebook API tab of the "Configuration" area of JFBConnect. Make sure the "Additional Permissions Request:" box doesn't have any unwanted permissions.
* Make sure your Profile plugins are the latest versions
* Disable the profile plugins and test. That will help narrow down if it's a profile plugin, or some other problem.

Let me know if any of the above helps get rid of the permission, and if it's not a 'fix' that can be permanent (like disabling the plugins) we can figure it out for you.

The Facebook button seemed to have a weird issue earlier today where it dissappeared for a few sites. Your the 3rd report (which is minor, relatively). It seems to be working now. I did go into your site, enable the JFBCProfile - JomSocial plugin and the education permission is not being requested... so, it looks like it's all working now.
