I have logged in, I can post Facebook comments (yay). Some way down the page it states "login to post comments". This I don't understand.

The "Login to post comments" text isn't coming from JFBConnect. I believe that's coming from K2, which has it's own commenting functionality. You should disable that if you only want to use Facebook Comments on your site. I believe comments can be disabled in the main "Parameters" are of K2, but also on each category as well.
