So ok if I got the wrong answer its quite probably because I asked the wrong question
I'll try again:
I havent used FB apps to any extent previously.
I want to move a site from: test.localhost
to a staging server: test.example.com
I didnt find any docs that work thru this, so...
I assumed I needed to make a new fb app for the new site - which I did
I changed AppID and Secret to new app credentials in the JFBConnect>config>Facebook API screen
alzander wrote: I really don't know what you mean by "drop or change the existing config"
Well I meant: delete or change the existing configuration settings within JFBConnect
The purpose being to move site from a localhost server to a staging server
alzander wrote: I'm not sure what you mean by it hanging
I didnt actually say hanging, but sorry bit of a typo there:
colin wrote: autotune seems to hang on the old site stuff (url, domains etc)
My meaning was that JFBConnect 'hangs on to'(=retains) the old configuration settings
I say that because there appears to be no way to get the url and domains to change in jfbc - in the 'overview' screen Site URL and domains are as per the localhost settings
And altho I changed AppID and Secret in the JFBConnect>config>Facebook API screen, Autotune will only come up with the old localhost AppID/Secret
I also notice that JFBConnect Extension checks 'Available' settings all come back as 'unknown' . I assume jfbc is 'phoning home' for this info and since this is on a live box with full network access - it should work?
But on the other hand, FB appears to know what is going on because a comments box appears on front end with the correct appid
So there you go. Thats a bit long for a simple question:
How to (re)configure JFBConnect when moving a site from: test.localhost to a staging server: test.example.com ?
