Topic-icon JFBConnect and Jomsocial - but use Joomla standard registration

Hello,

After having a few problems with Jomsocial's registration process, I decided that I'd like to revert to using Joomla's standard registration - in partnership with the Ajax Register application.

So I've switched off the Jomsocial registration redirects etc so that normal registrations use the standard Joomla/Ajax Register forms - this is all fine. But when the user registers via JFBConnect, it still tries to use the Jomsocial registration forms to create their full site account. If I disable the "JFBConnect - Profiles - JomSocial" plugin, it uses the standard Joomla registration process, but then won't import their Facebook Avatar into their Jomsocial profile.

Is there anyway of doing this, i.e. using JFBConnect and Jomsocial profile plug (to import the avatar), but with Joomla's standard registration form?

Details of site:
JFBConnect 4.2.1
Joomla 2.5.4
Jomsocial 2.6.1

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

Parr

Parr,
Yes, that should be pretty simple. In the JFBConnect -> Profiles area of JFBConnect, there is a setting called "Show Profile Fields:". Set that to "None". Then, when registering through JFBConnect, no JomSocial registration fields will be shown. You'll still need to leave the JomSocial profile plugin enabled with the "Import Avatar" setting enabled.

Finally, in the SCLogin module, there is an option for "Registration Component" which you can set to "Joomla" so that the redirections from that module go to the Joomla registration instead of JomSocial's registration.

Hope that helps, but if not, or you still run into issues, just let us know!

Alex - thank you for such a quick response, that works perfectly. I thought I had tried that combination, but obviously not!

Thanks again.
