Hello guys,

I have updated to version 4.2 and am encountering a problem when user logs in with Facebook. The installation went smoothly and I have no warnings in the overview tab. But when a user tries to log in, they see a internal server 500 error. Once they hit refresh, they return to the main page and are logged in.
This is the message they see.

The website encountered an error while retrieving /index.php?option=com_jfbconnect&task=loginFacebookUser&return=Lw==&cb=1336310613339. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Waqas,
Please check the following:
* Make sure that you haven't enabled any JFBCProfile plugins for any extensions you don't also have installed (Don't enable the JomSocial profile integration plugin if you don't have JomSocial, etc)
* If you're using an SEF extension, go into the settings and set it to 'skip' JFBConnect URLs (this doesn't seem to be the case on your site though)
* Go into Global Configuration and disable GZip compression and set Error Reporting to Maximum. The 500 error page may give more details about what the issue is. If so, please post the error here, and we can investigate further.

Hope that helps, but if not, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks! Inactivating the Kunena plugin solved the problem. FYI, I have Kunena installed.

Hmm. That's strange if it's breaking with Kunena and is not an issue we've heard of. If you need the profile import functionalities, we can investigate further. Please let us know what version of Kunena you're using so we can try testing out more.

Also, you may want to try re-enabling the Kunena plugin, but disabling the avatar import. On some sites, the avatar import can have issues with file system permissions. We can usually get around it, but narrowing down the exact setting causing the problem will help.

Thanks,
Alex
