I am using JFBConnect with JomSocial and need the JomSocial statuses to post to the user's FB wall.
When you first create an account, the "New User Message" shows up on the user's FB wall. However, JomSocial statuses are do not update.
In the Facebook API tab, I added the "publish_stream" permission as recommended.
The Facebook AP ID and secret key are disabled inside JomSocial.

I have attached screen shots of the configuration.

Any ideas on how to make this work? I sure would appreciate it!

Darrell,
I just went to your site, registered and posted 2 status updates. Not sure why they aren't going through to Facebook...

What version of JomSocial are you using? Doubt that's the issue, but we really haven't heard of any issues with the Post To Wall feature in some time, so not really sure what could be causing it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hmmm.. that's definitely strange. On the site that it isn't working on, do you still need to get it going? Obviously, check if the JomSocial or Joomla versions are different on the new site. Joomla 1.7.0 is -very- old in Joomla's world right now, as that's the first release of 1.7.x, the last was 1.7.4 (I think), and all support has been ceased for 1.7 in lieu of Joomla 2.5. I can't guarantee that's the problem, but that would be my first area to target.

Let us know how it goes or if you narrow anything down further.

Thanks,
Alex

Both the sites (the working one: dev.mycardioid.com and the broken one: www.cardioidchallenge.com) are using v 1.7.0
I disabled every extension that the site was not using. Still the same problem.
I also upgraded to JFBConnect 4.2.1
Any more ideas?

Correction. The old site is now Joomla 2.5.4 after I updated the joomla version.

I did notice that the configuration.php folder is not writable. Could that be the issue?

No, the configuration.php file should be unwriteable. That's for security issues and is normal for Joomla.

As for the issue, can you check the following things:
* In the JFBConnect - FB Wall Integration plugin that the "Push Status Updates to Facebook" is enabled. That's the default, and would be surprised if not, but verify.
* In the plugin manager, try setting the JFBConnect - FB Wall Integration plugin to the highest position (lowest number) so that it executes earlier than the others. You can also try last, just in case, and even compare the ordering to the site that does work to see if there are any other differences there.
* In the JomSocial Configuration area, under Site, check your setting for "Activity Display Privacy". I believe either setting should work, but compare with your other site. Just so you know, any posts marked as 'private', 'friends only' or anything other than 'Public' when posted will *not* be pushed to Facebook. Our plugin will only push posts marked as public.
* Finally, in the JFBConnect Configuration -> Facebook API tab, try enabling "Show Facebook API Errors on Front-End". After you post the status, refresh the page and see if any errors appear... if so, let us know.

Hopefully, one of the above will help narrow things down.. definitely still unsure of what the problem is, but will do what we can to help fix it!
