Running Joomla 2.5.3, Mac Safari - Used Extension Manager to install com_jfbconnect_j1.7_j2.5_v4.1.2.zip. Activated all plugins and components.

I tried to select from the Components menu, but got a 404 Component not found error. Tried to disable in Extension Magaer, got manifest error. Tried to uninstall, got DB error. Tried to reinstall, got "Component Install: DB function reports no errors" error in red, "Error installing component" in blue.

Now I have multiple instances of JFBConnect listed in the Extension Manager "Manage" pane, as well as single instances of all 3 other JBF plugins and components. And nothing in the Component menu.

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance.

laws215,
We've never heard of this issue, and we have lots of installs every day. I'm not sure what happened during the install process, and we can definitely try to unravel it. However, hopefully you have a backup of the site before the installation. If so, I'd honestly recommend rolling back to that as it's difficult to know what has happened to your database, files, and other parts of the site from the description you gave.

If you need to cleanup what is there, can you let me know a few things:
1) What is your PHP version?
2) What is your MySQL version?
3) What type of host are you on, Linux or Windows?
4) Was this site every Joomla 1.7 or earlier.. did you migrate to Joomla 2.5, or was it 'fresh' install of 2.5?
5) If you go to Extension Manager -> Database, do you get a message like "Database table structure is up to date."? If not, what do you see?

From here, can you uninstall all of the plugins, components, and SCLogin module? I know you have duplicates, but I'd recommend using Joomla to do the uninstallation, if it will allow you to. If you can't uninstall, please let us know what error you get when you do.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for responding.

The directory it was installed in was a clean install, Linux, latest PHP, MySQL, etc (I used Godaddy server's auto installs). I didn't want to waste anymore time, so I started over with a clean Joomla install in a new directory, new DB as well. The only difference is Joomla updated to 2.5.4.

JFBConnect installed fine without any issues.

laws215,
Definitely sorry for whatever happened. Glad it sounds like it's going now, and still completely unsure what went wrong. We do a ton of testing with each new release, and help users with a lot of issues. That's simply one we haven't heard of, and don't have an answer for.

Please let us know if you run into anything else, but hopefully it's smooth sailing from here.

Thanks,
Alex
