I have purchased JFBConnect 4.x for my Joomla 2.5.x. Then I failed trying to create an application on Facebook as required. I have followed all the steps of instruction, but receive an error message:

You have specified an App Domain but have not specified a Site URL or a Mobile Web URL moznainaczej.com.pl must be derived from your Site URL or your Mobile Web URL.

As my site URL I have entered as explained in the instruction www.moznainaczej.com.pl. I do not understand the error message.

Andrzej,
In your Facebook Application settings, there is a setting for "App Domain" and "Site URL". The Site URL appears about half-way down in the section called "Website". Make sure you can see both settings. Then, fill those fields in as follows:
App Domain: moznainaczej.com.pl
Site URL: www.moznainaczej.com.pl/

I just tried creating an application with that information and did not receive an error. Hopefully that works for you too, but if you still have troubles, just let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Dear Alex,
Thank you for your help, but it does not work. What you explained is exactly what the instruction says. Maybe the cause of my problem is that I use version 4.x. This is what I see and have entered on my panel:

App Display Name: www.moznainaczej.com.pl
App Namespace: moznainaczej
Contact Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
App Domain: moznainaczej.com.pl
Kategoria (Cathegory) : Inne (Others) - this single line is in Polish (?)
Hosting URL: You have not generated a URL through one of our partners (Get one) - do I need one if I have my site?

I do not see the tags (labels) that you see on the screen. The error message is still the same. I was trying to add an attachement to this mail to show my screen, but the docx file was not accepted as "format not allowed".

Regards,
Andrzej

Hello,
no the Hosting URL is not required.

Please attach a screenshot as an Image file and not as a Word Document.

I'm attaching an image of what the App Domain and Site URL should look like for your application. Please note the bottom section. You'll need to click the word "Website" to open that area up and then fill in the Site URL field:
File Attachment:

Hope that helps, but if you still have issues, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Yes, it helped. Earlier I did not realize, that “Website” is clickable and opens a field. Thank you. It turns out that I have not read the instruction carefuly enough.

Andrzej,
We agree, it's a bit confusing. In the upcoming 4.2 release, JFBConnect will be able to automatically configure and correct settings in your application. We're excited to make that whole step a lot simpler. Until then though, we'll keep helping our users understand what to do wherever we can!

Let us know if you need anything else,
Alex
