Hi,

I don't really know how to explain the problem so I made a video showing you.

www.screencast.com/t/ZDNJ0WeLTJ

I don't know how many people are getting this error. I do know my developer does not get the error.

Any ideas?

Stephen,
Do you have the "jomsocialredirect" plugin enabled on your site? We've been getting reports that it can cause random errors like that when logging in. We haven't fully investigated yet, but if you have it enabled, please try disabling it and testing again. Let us know if that helps at all.

Thanks,
Alex

Stephen,
What are you using for SEF URLs? If it's a 3rd party extension, please see if you can have it 'skip' URLs for JFBConnect.

Other things to try, test after each to see if it helps:
* Disable any jfbcprofile plugins you have and test
* In Global Configuration, set Error Reporting to Maximum and turn GZip off. See if you get an error displayed when you try to login.
* Try with a completely different template

If any of those help, let us know, and we'll help you figure out how to go from there.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex, thank you for responding.
We tried everything you suggested. Still getting the same on my computers but developer is not. She also has your product on another site which does not have this problem. She has same products on that site and no problem but on this site, I am getting issue on my computers (2).
What happens when you go to the site? bit.ly/Oa4Fj
Are you getting a 403?
Any other ideas?
Thanks

I just registered on the site. I got the email that says "Thanks for registering", but I was redirected to the following page which gave a 403 error:
www.bayoubuzz.com/profile

Can you try setting the login and/or registration redirections to different pages, like the Home Page, and see if that changes the problem? Also, can you check if my user is marked as approved (not blocked) in both the Joomla User manager and JomSocial or if there's anything else that would block my account on your site, check that too.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
I did check to see if you are enabled in user and in jom social and you are.
My developer is not available, so i personally went to the login/logout.
The settings were "yes" to Enable New User Redirection and yes to Enable Returning User Redirection:.
I made them "no" and saved.
I did notice that when i try to login now i am no longer getting a 403. However, except for one time when the browser said it was successful, later attempts gave a false negative. I did login but the blue icon did not change and it still said "login with facebook".
I am afraid that most users would automatically assume it failed and would not pursue the issue further.
I have attached an image of that tab so you can see the present config after my change.
Please let me know if you

Stephen,
Glad the 403 errors seem better. Still not sure why that was happening, and it may be related to the current issue as well. I am seeing that when I login, the page reloads quickly but still shows the "Login With Facebook" button. If I simply hit refresh, it shows me as logged in.

Can you try disabling any caching you have enabled (temporarily) and see if that helps. Also, can you tell me what User plugins you have enabled?

Not sure what the problem is yet, but we'll help you get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
We are getting bizarre and inconsistent results.
Before disabling cache, I was having success with safari, but the other 3 browsers, i was getting same mixed results. The browsers were showing the login with facebook button but if i clicked on community, it showed i was logged in.
However, when we disabled cache, on one occassion, it worked for 2 browsers and that was it, the rest of the time i got the same mixed results...click on button, button says "login to facebook" after clicking however, when clicking to jom social page, it said i was actually logged in. The same result occured 3x for 4 browsers. i even cleared cache between attempts.

Developer asked could it be a permission issue?
She also said we need cache enabled. It is re-enabled but Fb connect is .excluded in cache She also said we are not using jot cache.
Attached is the info requested about plugins
