To all of you that have been waiting for Virtuemart 2 support from JFBConnect, it's here now! While this release has been extensively tested, we're not putting it in the main download area yet. It's the first release, and since it's for an eCommerce extension, we highly recommend testing on a development site first and not putting into production until you have fully qualified it. Please report any issues you run into or feedback you may have.

This release has the following features:
* Compatibility with Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5. (Tested with VM 2.0.2)
* Profile import capabilities - Select the VM field to import data from FB into
* Works with both the Full Joomla User and Facebook User Only options (the VM1.x profile plugin only worked with the Full Joomla User setting).
* User is added to the shopper group marked as "default" in VM2

The Facebook User Only setting allows users to be created automatically (silently) without any initial registration form. More information will still likely be needed on checkout since you can't get a user's street address from Facebook.

There are links below for both the Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 2.5 versions.
Please note: You must be logged in and have an active subscription to JFBConnect to download either version.
Download for Joomla 1.5
Download for Joomla 2.5

Thanks for your patience, and please let us know how this plugin works for you!

Hi,
thank you very much for the good news. I just played a bit around with it and have some comments.
When I click on Login with Facebook I get the VM registration page and not mapped fields are filled with an "0" instead of being blank / empty.
Some field I can not map in the profile jfbprofile tab, like country or state.
In addition to this I have VM custom shopper field "B-day" and this I would like to have matched with facebook basic info birthday. I guess it would be great showing all VM fields dynamically in the profile mapping tab.
Do you have a manual how can I display the like / comment button on product detail page. Especially if I have an own product detail template?

prismalight,
Thanks for the initial feedback. I have no clue why there's a '0' showing in those positions. That's not something we've seen, and we don't try to pre-fill out those fields. Pre-filling will be a feature in JFBConnect v4.2, but it shouldn't be happening now. Can you try from a different browser? I can only guess the browser is pre-filling it out with values used previously.

The Country and State fields will be importable in the next release of the plugin. It's feedback we expected, and I meant to mention, but we simply wanted to get a first pass out that works with the features it has. I don't think the state or country fields should be too hard to import, I just need to make sure that there's a 1:1 mapping between Facebook codes and Virtuemart ones. That will also be made easier with the JFBConnect v4.2 release where we will pre-fill it out if possible, but if a proper mapping can't be found, we'll just let the user do it.

Birthday is the same.. we'll get that in there soon.

As for the Like / Comment widgets, we didn't delve into the template system for the new Virtuemart release, so I don't know the answer off-hand. If you know where you want the buttons though, all you should have to do is add the {JFBCLike} and {JFBCComments} tags where you want each of them to show. JFBConnect should take care of the rest.

Hope that helps, and let us know any other feedback you may have!

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
I did some further tests. The pre-fill issue with "0" also exists with IE. before I used Firefox. When I call the Joomla page "create account" www.prismalight.com.mx/test/user/registration nothing is prefilled. I guess the issue occurs on the form you are calling. I also have the issue when I call on VM create user and shipping address. This form has also the issue that select state is not working.
I am using a component which subscribes newly registered user automatically to newsletter like qcontacts or contact enhance .. when I register those users are not subscribed. I guess the trigger is when the confirm the account by confirmation link / email. because then the account status changes. As jfb default configuration is "skip confirmation" the event is missing to trigger other events. I recommend to change you algorithm. when skip, then create account as unconfirmed and post second event to confirm account that follow up events are triggered.
regarding the widgets. I know that i can post in article {abc} but not directly in php template. like this components/com_virtuemart/views/productdetails/tmpl/xxx.php
