I am using JFBconnect and Jlinked. I had cummunity builder installed and the sc login module was working fine. today i switched to jomsocial, and this login module is not working now. the facebook login and linkedin login buttons are working but when i enter username and password n click login it opens up with the following message

"404 - Component not found

I tried it with SEF off and it works fine but when i turn SEF on, it doesnt work.

It was working perfectly fine with SEF on before when I was using community builder but ever since I switched to jomsocial it stopped working.

Any suggestions!

In the SCLogin module, there is a setting for "Registration Component", or something like that. Please make sure it's not set to Community Builder. It should be either JomSocial or Joomla.

Hope that helps,
Alex

it is set to jom social but still doesnt work. however I worked around it. I wanted people to land at their profile page when they login using sclogin so I was setting the redirection to "Profile" from the menu item of jomsocial. well it was loging user in but it wasnt redirecting to profile page. so i created another menu item under topmenu called "my profile" with the target to open the user's profile page. then I changed the redirection in sclogin toward "my profile". It worked fine!! .... so with a little bit of work around i got it solved!! :)

I am using SCLogin module with setting for "Registration Component" set to JomSocial and I get the same error - in both the cases i.e. when I use/dont use redirect. I have also tried it with SEF URLs turned on/off but with same results (using Joomla 2.5.2).

I see the error page on URL like this: domain.com/directory/index.php?Itemid=1 (I have the website in a directory as it is under development).

praveenmaan,
Does the redirect work for other menu items, or is it just that specific one that doesn't work? If it is just that one, what kind of menu item is it that you're linking too?

Thanks,
Alex

It happens on all the pages. On loggin-in, user is taken to URL like '/index.php?Itemid=1'

There is no article with ID = 1, could that be an issue? - I have set another page default though.

I have attached screengrabs (error on front end) and setting in backed.
Thanks

Hello,
could you please reattach a screenshot, and maybe share a link to the website so we could take alook?

Contactmaan,
I believe the problem is an weird issue with JomSocial and routing to the user's profile. The URL they use for menu items can be problematic. Can you try setting the redirection to a different menu item and see if that helps? If it works for other URLs, other than the profile, let us know. We can probably help figure out a way around the issue.

Also, for now, let's leave SEF URLs disabled. JFBConnect should work fine with SEF, but best to test without it to remove that as a possible cause.

Thanks,
Alex
