Hi there,

I have an redirect loop issue. I tried to implement the solutions provided in other forums, but unfortunately it did not really work (e.g. Error reporting to maximum...)

the other component installed is jreviews. Do you there might some issues with that?

Many thanks

The web page at xxx has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

Hello,
we do not know of any issues with JReviews & JFBC and we have seen it working in various websites.

did this problem start when you install JFBC or any other extension?
if so, try disabling that extensions and see if that helps.

Hi Mati,

Thanks for the reply.

The website was working fine for the last couple weeks. But after i bought and installed jfbc this problem started to occur.

I have read lots of posts with "redirect loop issues" but none of those solutions seem to work.

Let me clarify the problem again:

The website works fine, but when i click on "login with facebook" a popup appears asking for my fb name and pw. After i submit this info, the pop up closes and then the website keeps on loading for about 30 seconds and then the "redirect loop" error message appears in the browser.

thanks,
ari

Let try the simplest solution, disable (or uninstall) JFBC and see if that helps.
it is recommended that you backup you entire website before doing this!

stupid question: whats the point of disabling (uninstalling) jfbc?

the whole issue appears only I click on the JFCB facebook login button. The itself works absolutey fine, until i do this. and then when i delete the cookies, the "redirect loop" issue dissappears and everything works fine again.

the reason why I bought jfbc is to get people to log in via fb and hence uninstalling this would make no sense? Or are you trying to achieve something else.

Do you want me to send the website details in pm so you can have a look?

Ari,
Please post the URL for the site and we can look further.

Also, if you have any SEF extensions enabled, please let us know. If it's a 3rd party extension, usually there is a way to 'skip' the generation of pretty URLs for some components. If so, please 'skip' JFBConnect.

If that doesn't work, let us know if you're using any security/firewall type extensions.

Finally, I know you mentioned that you set Error Reporting to maximum. Please try that setting while also making sure that GZip compression is disabled. If you have any other optimization scripts enabled, please disable those as well. Those can prevent the error messages from appearing.

Let us know how that goes, and we'll get you fixed up!

Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have pm'ed you the link and super admin access.

GZip has always been disabled, i dont use any sef extensions nor firewall ones.

I appreciate your help a lot. This issue gets more and more annoying, especially when I dont seem to know what to do. :)

thanks,

ari

Ari,
I just tried to register on your page and didn't run into any issues. It properly seems to have created my account and left me on the same page I logged in from (the one you sent in PM). I then logged out and logged back in without issue.

Can you try to clear your browser cache or restart your browser. Even better, try from a different browser or computer to see if you have the same results.

I did log into the admin area, after seeing things work on the front end, just to check if there was anything out of the ordinary. Everything seemed fine from what I saw.

Please let us know how further tests go.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello,
it would be best to first try and find the cause of the slow down and then try and fix it (make if faster).
there are several external website that can give you a rough estimation of the total page size, load time, etc.
