Facebook Wall Spam was created by learjet
Hi Alex,

I love the component but if I could suggest a feature.

I love the idea of the status messages feature however since I'm the developer of the site and I keep going back and forth from the site to Facebook, every time I navigate away from the site and then go back, it updates my Facebook profile. At the end of the day I have 30 'checked in at SITE' messages all the way down my wall.

If there was a way to turn this off for the DEVELOPER ONLY that would be great, or set it to only update a users wall 1 time per day. The feature is great but it updates my wall too much and I don't want to tick off my friends and have them think that I'm promoting my site too much.

Much thanks!

learjet,
We actually have a code check in JFBConnect that should prevent the same message being posted to the user's wall if that's also their last message. So, there really shouldn't be duplicate repeated posts... so if you're seeing that, that doesn't seem right.

As for a developer only mode, it's not a bad idea. For development, we actually have a couple Facebook accounts and don't user our 'personal' accounts for test purposes for just that reason. You may want to consider creating a new Facebook account just for testing purposes. Facebook doesn't want lots of extra accounts for users, and there are ways to create "Test Users". We haven't worked with the "Test User" functionality much, but it may also be something for you to look into.

Hope that helps, and let us know if duplicates are being posted without other status messages showing in between.

Thanks,
Alex
