I think in terms of future functionality it may be useful to give that Facebook Only user an option to create a local site account and merge them. Because even though you cant login using that email address, it does technically exist in Joomla.

I think its a nice idea that a facebook user can "tour the site" as their FB identity and be given a reason to migrate the details into a real local account.

yes, indeed. but its a matter of workflow.

users dont want to bother registering until there is conviction to do so. in my case its about identity in chat to watch a live broadcast. i want the FB user to be created, but give the user a chance to become a full member later on.

its working beautifully to have "facebook user only" enabled. got a full room of FB users live now. However in a matter of conversion, Id like to allow them the ability to fulfill to a full user with a profile and become a member of the community.

Ok, understood. It wasnt actually working when I tested with my own fresh user. I was getting this error:

JUser: :_load: Unable to load user with ID: 1087

But I had an event last night with lots of FB users and it seems their profiles are working fine. So I will make the workflow work in that way.
