Upgrading to 4.1.1 was created by kiwi2b
Hi there,

Just upgrading to 4.1.1 from 4.0 on a 1.7 website. Looking in the zips from the download, which plugin is this for / what does it do? : plg_community_jfbcjsactivity_j1.6_j1.7_v4.1.0

Also, in joomla's extension manager, after the upgrade, everything I have installed is now up to date except for one module: jfcblogin. This is still showing as 4.0.2, whereas the others show as 4.1.1. How do I update this module? There doesn't seem to be a new version module for it in the modules zip.

Next, I have a sclogin showing in jfcb's extension check page, and in joomla's extension manager. What is this for and is there a 4.1 version of this somewhere?

Last, in jfbc's extension check, the jfbclogin module mentioned above isn't showing at all although it's in joomla's extension manager. How come?

Thanks for your help in advance!

The jfbcjsactivity plugin is meant for pushing status updates that users make in JomSocial to their Facebook Wall. If you don't have JomSocial, don't install it.

The JFBCLogin module is no longer a part of JFBConnect. In it's place is the SCLogin module. It works for both JFBConnect and JLinked, and it's recommended you move to that. It was installed with JFBConnect 4.1.x, just like JFBCLogin was previously installed.

The version number for the SCLogin module is a little wonky right now, since JLinked is v1.0, and that's where the SCLogin module was first released. We're considering up-revving it so it's more consistent. However, the most recent version of SCLogin is 1.something (can't remember) and it has all the features of the JFBCLogin module, and a few more. You should use it :)

Hope that explains everything you were looking for!

mymind,
I moved your topic to a new thread as it's unrelated to this one:

Hi again, just noticed after upgrading again, 4.1.2. The sclogin extension is showing as installed but not published in jfbc's check, but in joomlas manager it shows as published!
I don't have users logging in to this site so not needed, but what do you think?

Kiwi,
Never heard of that issue. You're sure it's the SCLogin module that you're looking at in both places? We do a similar database query to check if the extension is installed as Joomla itself does in the module mananger. Not sure why it would show as published.

If you aren't using or don't want the SCLogin module to display anywhere, we'd recommend unpublishing it in the Module Manager. While we mark it as 'Required', it really isn't as Login functionality isn't needed by everyone, and you could also use the {JFBCLogin} tag instead of the SCLogin module anyways.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Yep, it's the same module, tried enabling/unenabling. Still showing on in joomla, but off in jfbc. I've switched it off now, but let me know of a fix if possible.
Thanks!

Make sure you're using the Module Manager, not the Extension Manager -> Manage tab. We simply check to see if any SCLogin module is published, we don't actually check the "Enabled" state that is an overriding value from the Manage Tab.

It's a bit confusing, and we probably should check all those values, but just don't right now.

Hope that helps,
Alex

Yep, publishing / unpublishing from the module mananger, as opposed to the extension manager does the trick. Confusion over!
Thanks again.
