Topic-icon Adding CSS stylesheet to JFBCFan or other modules

I was curious what would be the best way to proceed with fine tuning the styling on some modules:

First, the JFBC fan module has a default stream content height of 300px set by the FB settings. However I do not know enough about php to add a css stylesheet to the settings of the default.php of the module. If was able to, I could set the .fan_box .page_stream class to be whatever height I would like in a stylesheet and have it linked to the module by way of php.

This also brings me to the default images for the like, send and basically any other graphic associated with facebook. I would like to have some control over those buttons, but once again it is a matter of php and adding stylesheets to be able to truly fine tune the look and feel of the buttons/graphics.

Check out the Coke share button for instance: facebook coke

I am not sure if this could be done, but to have the ability to link stylesheets to modules or add settings for which button to use or text to use for the button in the module settings--that would be terrific. I would think adding those bits of functionality would really help those design junkies with limited php knowledge out.

Thoughts? ~ Thanks

Doing some digging and found some stuff out:

So, custom buttons seem to be impossible unless you are a corporation like say Coca Cola:
answer to custom buttons

Customizing the like box seems to be a bit different:
A work around to adding css to like-box

Let me know what you think.

The CSS styling for the Like-Box (and other widgets) was removed from Facebook earlier this year. People were abusing the power to remove all branding and other features and not use it in the way Facebook wanted. You can always try the css= parameter, but for all new apps that weren't using the box before March of this year, that feature no longer works to our knowledge.

If you have any luck, definitely let us know, but unfortunately, I don't think you will,
Alex

Good by me. So, I was able to tweak my fan page a bit more using the like box and the send button--you will need to like the page to view:

Doogle Fan Page

I am still searching for a better way to stream the way on this page if you can think of any other way or perhaps how it is implemented by others I would love to know some direction on how best to go forward.

Thanks!

Joe,
Very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I actually looked at your page earlier this week and saw the stream at the bottom, like you were asking for, so I neglected responding at that time.

I just went to the FB Page though, and none of the images (or a lot of other things) seem to be working. Not sure if this is a temporary thing, or something bigger, but either way, wanted to let you know of the issue.

If you need anything from us, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Interesting. I just viewed the page in chrome and firefox and it appears to be working, perhaps there was something amiss temporarily with our server. If you wouldn't mind trying again, I would like to see if you still experience the problem:

Doogle Custom Landing Page

Thanks!

Not at all working for me. The HTML is loading from your main domain, but the following URL (one of many) is completely unreachable for me (going directly, not just within Facebook):
media.doogledesign.com/images/facebook_t...png?javer=1110161112

So, any assets loaded from that media subdomain aren't working for me. Looks like a DNS issue, which could very easily be on my end (downforeveryoneorjustme.com, pingdom, and slowcop all report media. as working fine). Will test later on to see if it's consistent. I can, however, reach www.doogledesign.com/ without issue.

Hope that explains a little of where I'm coming from.. no clue if it's something to be concerned with or not.

Alex
