I am new to jfbconnect...but have been using jomsocial for a while now

I have installed your component and the jomsocial plugin.
Everything seems fine - my account gets created and all works..except for:
When i go to my jomsocial profile and update my status - I expect it to send it to facebook like the way jomsocial does but it does not.
Do I have to be using your activitystream live module for this to happen ?
I have enabled the jfbconnect module and that works - i hit "like" and it send the update to facebook,
but when i am in the jomsocial activity stream or in my dashboard - it does not update facebook..am i missing something here ???
