Hello fellas,

I am facing a situation here.

I wanna make the og:description to be dinamically filled with the article content. So, when someone add the article link into facebook, the content is used as the page brief. By default, what is added is the Joomla Description of the Website.

Thank you in advance for your help.

JFBConnect automatically takes the meta description for the page and uses it for the description if you aren't setting it using the {JFBCGraph description=Facebook description for page} tag.

The best way to do what you're saying is:
1) Add the {JFBCGraph description=xxx} tag to your articles
2) Add meta descriptions to your menu items/articles inside Joomla - This is recommended because that works for search engines too
3) Use a plugin (don't know of any specifically for 1.6, unfortunately) that will automatically take the first 100 chars (or so) of your article and set your meta description using that. JFBConnect should then use this tag as the Facebook description.. if you're not overriding it using #1 above.

Whew.. hope that makes sense and seems reasonable. If not, or you have suggestions for improvements, just let us know!

Thank you Alzandre,

Your job and support is great.

I solved my problem using a plugin that auto-generate the Meta Description using the text from the article. I don't know if I can share the name of it here, but I will.

It works great.

SEOSimple - it is a OpenGL plugin and works beautifuly.

Thank you again.

Great! Glad to hear you got things going, and while I don't know that plugin off hand, that's definitely the best route as it helps fix your meta data for search engines and for Facebook.

Thanks for the compliments on JFBConnect and our support. We'd love it if you'd consider taking a moment and leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory as well. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Good luck to you and your site,
Alex
