I have a problem. I have selected "show" for all three altenatives, including front page view. But it does not show there. If I click one article It shows in "Article mode" though. Why is this? Really need to have the like and comment functions on the frontpage.
By the way, I list the articles on the front page as "Category blog" if that has anythin to do with it..
I am running Joomla 1.7

Thanks in advance for the help!

In Joomla 1.6, front-page articles have been renamed to featured articles. If you're front page isn't showing a "Featured Articles" view, and just doing a category blog view, then you'll need to setup JFBConnect differently. In the social area, simply set it up to show the Like or Comment box in Category Blog Views and then in the category area, set it to show in all categories, or at least the category that you're showing.

That should fix you up. I can see where the confusion is coming from, and we're happy Joomla changed the Front Page name because it was always confusing when that view wasn't actually on the front page. We'll try to change the naming of that setting for the 1.6+ series in an upcoming update as well to Featured.

Let me know how that goes!

Hi!
Thank you for the reply.
I still have the same problem though. I took a screenshot of my setup in the JFB component: www.pappaledigt.se/media/social.png (the same settings as before)
So according to your instruction, this would do the trick, but the problem still remain.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, we don't have any great ideas. Is it possible to Private Message us a set of super admin credentials so we can see your setup more closely? We can't reproduce this issue, and it makes it difficult for us to determine the cause or a solution.

Please let us know. We'll keep brainstorming what could be wrong, but just are unsure at this moment.

Thanks,
Alex

Per-Henrik,
Thanks for letting us have access to the site. We fixed the issue by re-ordering the Content plugins. At first, we tried putting the JFBC Content plugin as the highest/last one, and that still didn't work. Then, we put it first and it seems to be working just fine.

Definitely test, and make sure that the ordering doesn't cause any other problems. If so, let us know. Not sure where the conflict was from, but sometimes things are heavily dependent on the ordering of the plugins, as it seems so in this case.

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex

Hi,
Thank you for the help! Now it seems to work fine with one exeption. Below the comment box a error message shows in a yellaow box "Warning: www.pappaledigt.se/?id=5:pappaledigt is unreachable."
When I click on the link i come to Facebook with this text:

www.pappaledigt.se/?id=5:pappaledigt - URL Linter
" Home › Tools › URL Linter
Input URL
Critical
Website Inaccessible The page at www.pappaledigt.se/?id=5:pappaledigt could not be reached because the server returned status code 404.
Debug
Data Source "www.pappaledigt.se/?id=5:pappaledigt" extracted from our normalized version of the url "

However, there is nothing wrong with the article, and I am able to click on it and it will load as it should. So the 404 wanring seems incorrect.

The same thing happens if I create a new article.

I hope the solution is close :)

Best regards

PH

PH,
Never seen that problem before. For some reason, JFBConnect is generating the incorrect URL for your articles to notify Facebook where the comment/like is actually happening. Are you using an SEF extension on your site, or is that the built in Joomla pretty URLs?

Any information on the configuration of how your URLs are generated would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Alex

I managed to solve it. You led me in the right direction. By unchecking the "search engine friendly url:s" everything works. Both comments and like.
Not optimal to have to uncheck that option, but it solved the problem!

Thanks!

While it's great you solved it, it's definitely not good that you had to disable that setting. Can you let me know if you were just using the built in SEF URLs with Joomla 1.7, or if you were using some other SEF extension?

Either way, we'll work to fix this as that's not a setting you should have to disable.

Thanks for the feedback and patience in the matter,
Alex
