Hello!! I bought JFBconnect module (180 days subscription). I have two questions:

a) is it possibile to have a receipt (es. pdf format) of my payment?
b) in the "My subscriptions" section of my account I can download these modules:

com_jfbconnect_j1.6_v3.3.1.tar.gz 3.3.1 - Joomla 1.6/1.7 2011-06-03 09:39:25
jfbconnect_social_modules_j1.6_v3.3.1_20110603_unzip_first.zip 3.3.1 - Joomla 1.6/1.7 2011-06-03 09:41:44
jfbconnect_profile_plugins_j1.6_v3.3_20110616_unzip_first.zip 3.3 - Joomla 1.6 2011-06-16 16:35:30

The third one is only for Joomla 1.6?? Is there a version for Joomla 1.7?

I have installed Joomla 1.6 version of JFBConnect: when I pass to Joomla 1.7 how must I installed JFBConnect (Joomla 1.7 version)? Must I remove Joomla 1.6 version of this module before and reinstall the new version?

Thanks a lot in advance!!

Luca

Luca,
For a receipt, please send me an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., and we'll have one sent out to you soon. Unfortunately, our system doesn't generate them automatically. That would be nice though.

As for 1.7, the 1.6 version of JFBConnect has been tested fully under 1.7. However, we released the 1.6 version before 1.7 was available. The filename may only say 1.6, but the Version column does reflect which version each of the files is for. I understand it's a bit confusing, and we're hoping to make it better with the 4.0 release which will have better names.

Please note that the profile plugins only support 1.6. None of the extensions we integrate with have had a final/stable release for 1.7 yet, so we haven't been able to test our integration with them.

Finally, as for upgrading, you can simply re-install JFBConnect anytime you need to. There is no need to uninstall first.

Hope that helps, and good luck,
Alex

Ok, thank you for your reply. I sent an e-mail to the address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as you requested to me.

Only a question again: I installed the following files of JFB Connect for Joomla 1.6 ver. 3.3.0:

com_jfbconnect_j1.6_v3.3.0.tar.gz,
jfbconnect_profile_plugins_j1.6_v3.3_20110513_unzip_first.zip,
jfbconnect_social_modules_j1.6_v3.3_20110506_unzip_first.zip

How can I upgrade it to the 3.3.1 version (for Joomla 1.6/1.7)? Must I install the new packages over the old installation (3.30) and overwrite the related files? Which packages must I install exactly (I have Joomla 1.6.6 now).

Thanks a lot in advance.

Luca

We just emailed the receipt. We only run invoices for users that request them every few weeks, as it's not a common request. Generally, the receipt from the payment gateway is enough for most. I guess I could have been more clear above that it wouldn't be an instant turn-around, and thanks for your patience.

As for the other questions, I missed seeing those altogether. For upgrading, you can check out our Upgrade Guide, which basically will tell you that you just use the Joomla installer to install the latest release, and those files will be upgraded automatically:
www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/upgrade-guide

You don't want to manually copy any files over. You must use the Joomla installer.

As for the profile plugins, currently, CB is all we're officially supporting as they are the only ones out with an official 1.7 release. Kunena has one as well, which we're testing with right now, but it's not as stable as we'd hope for.

Finally, we're releasing an updated version of JFBConnect later tonight or tomorrow, and you may just want to wait for that version (v3.4) to come out before upgrading.

Thanks,
Alex
