Changes to the JFBConnect component my joomla site are not saving. I try to put in the API settings and save changes, but every time I leave that window and return, it is gone.

We've heard one other case of this happening, and in that case, it was caused by the SQL file that our installer should install not being properly run. Please try to re-install JFBConnect. You don't need to uninstall it first, just use the same Joomla installer again.

A way to check if this is the issue is to verify that the jos_jfbconnect_config and jos_jfbconnect_user_map tables exist in your database. If not, that's the problem.

If re-installing doesn't work, another thing to try is using a tool like PHPMyAdmin on your server and running the /administrator/components/com_jfbconnect/install.jfbconnect.sql file.

If none of this makes sense, let us know, and we can likely get you fixed up, but we'd need super admin access to your site.

Sorry for the troubles. Still not sure why this has happened, but we're working on solving it. It's very rare, like I said with you being the 2nd user having this issue.
Thanks,
Alex

Helly Alzander, thanks for your quick and detailed suggestions on how to fix it. Unfortunately,I tried reinstalling it, and I found the entries in the database... still no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Jannik

So you can actually see the jos_jfbconnect_xxx tables? If so, if you don't have a problem with it, can you Private Message us a set of super admin credentials so we can look into the problem further? You can PM me by clicking the arrow under my name (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks for your patience, and we'll get you fixed up,
Alex

Well, congrats! You've found a new issue apparently :)

It looks like there's a conflict between how we're saving things and the RocketTheme admin template you're using. I went into the Template manage and switched to the default BlueStork and was able to manually enter your App ID and API/Secret Keys. That was fun since I couldn't cut/paste from an image! Anyways, that worked.. so, while certainly not optimal, I'd recommend that for now at least, to configure settings in JFBConnect, you switch back to the BlueStore template.

Sorry for the troubles, but hopefully this will help you make some good forward momentum. We'll try to look into what the conflict is more, but don't know how long a good solution will take.

Thanks for your patience, and let us know if you run into anything else,
Alex

No problem. It's what we do :D Thank you for your subscription!

Please let us know if you run into anything else or have any other questions. When you've tested out JFBConnect a bit, please also consider leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory for the extension and our support. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks, and good luck to you and your site,
