The missing scroll bars is a new one to me. Is your site/FB Application non-english by chance? Unfortunately, we really don't have any control of that window, so I'm not sure what could be causing it.
This release has some improvements to work with AEC (mainly using the user plugin to allow for AEC to fire properly). On the dev site that we were using for AEC testing, we needed to make sure the AEC plugins fired after the JFBConnect plugin. This is because AEC was actually redirecting at the end of their plugin, which meant that if the JFBC plugin was set to fire after the AEC ones, it never would.
Try setting the User plugins on your site to this order:
Joomla
JFBConnect
AEC
There can be others mixed, in, but that order between them needs to be maintained.
