When I login to Facebook and go to the Apps area, it gives me the message:

"You have not authorized any apps to interact with your Facebook account."

So I can't register the JFBConnect app.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

When you first go to developers.facebook.com , it should ask you for permission to access your profile (just like logging into this site). Then, click the "Apps" tab at the top. Once there, there should be a "Create New App" button in the top right. Click that, and our configuration guide should walk you through the creation process.

Hope that fixes you up, but if not, let us know. Facebook is always changing things, so possible there's a New Years configuration surprise just waiting for us!

Thanks for the reply.
I went to the URL and then clicked apps at the top.
It asked me to login - I did and it sent me to my Facebook page.
I went to settings, then clicked on Apps and received the same message:
"You have not authorized any apps to interact with your Facebook account."
Ugg!
???
Any other ideas?

Thanks again.

After you login, go back to the same url: developers.facebook.com/ That's a different page than the Settings -> Apps page, which shows you which applications you've used in the past.

You specifically need to create a new application, which is different process. When you login from that page, it should leave you in the developers.facebook.com area. If not, go there directly.

If that still doesn't work, let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I have tried all combinations of steps, including the one you suggested.
When I go the the apps area, it just sends me to the main facebook page.
This is for a client of mine: thediabeticyou.com
When I do it with mine, it works fine: www.facebook.com/honeyager
The client gave me his FB login, but it is not acting like mine.

Obviously I am not a FB guru :( so I apologize for the basic questions.
If you can set up the service, it will probably take you less time than going back and forth. Please let me know.

Thanks again.

Jeff,
I'm not sure why that's happening. It's definitely strange, and not an issue we've ever heard of. Unfortunately, we can't set up the application for you, but if you can access the application area with your own Facebook account, you should be able to get over this obstacle.

First, you'll need to create the application with your Facebook account. Once created, there's a "Roles" manager where you should be able to add your clients Facebook account as an administrator. From there, things should work just like normal.

If you can't add the other Facebook account, or you don't want to create the application initially in your name, you'll need to contact Facebook to understand what is wrong with that account. It could be a bug, or the account is for some reason blocked from creating applications due to past behavior. I haven't heard of this latter problem, but Facebook does what Facebook does :)

Hope that helps get you started,
Alex
