Topic-icon Error Message: Avatar file for User does not exist

Hello there!

I have this issue now that whenever I log in using JFBC, I get this error:
The avatar file (/tmp/jfbc_650063770pic_tmp.jpg) for user 1114 does not exist. Using default image instead.

The avatar for the profile is not shown anymore. Furthermore, when I check the tmp folder, the file is there. I suspect it is also jomsocial related since when I try to upload a new avatar using jomsocial, it works but the thumbnails are not created for the avatar.

It happened after I was trying something in my local joomla host and I did not realize that the local joomla has its ftp setup to the live site. My config.php for the live site was a mess that I had to edit it and put in the proper values to make the site live again (database, username, passwords,etc.).

I've been using JFBConnect for the longest time now and I'm really happy about it. I hope mess could be fixed. Thanks!

Ian,
Check your settings for Remote File storage within JomSocial. It should be set to Local Storage. Also check for the ImageMagick path in the configuration area of JomSocial. If this is set, try removing it, as that error can crop up if you specify a path an ImageMagick has issues.

Let us know if that helps. If not, we'll gladly help more how we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Actually, I checked the remote file storage and imagemagick before I posted here. The settings are correct (loca server) and I didn't a location for the imagemagick.

It was working before but now I just can't pinpoint the bug. Also, manually uploading a profile avatar results in a JFTP error. The avatar is uploaded but the thumbnail is not generated.

Never mind this issue... I have solved it already. It was the path to my tmp folder. I wasn't able to revert it to the correct one after the mishap. I corrected the database details but not the directory paths. My bad. Thank, anyway. I still love your extension. =)

Ian,
Fantastic! Very glad to hear you got it going, and that you're still happy with JFBConnect. It doesn't sound like this was a JFBConnect issue either way, but glad your not taking out on us :)

Hopefully, everything goes well for you from here, but if you need anything from us, just let us know!

Finally, please consider leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory for JFBConnect, or our support. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated!

Thanks, and good luck,
