Was receiving an error message when clicking on the 'like' button.
Went to facebook lint and it stated:

"Warnings That Should Be Fixed

The Property INFERRED og: locale property Should Be Explicitly Provided, Even if a value INFERRED Can Be From Other tags. "

So using open graph I added:
locale=en_GB
(As my location is in the UK).

My site now appears to work fine and the error has been removed from the facebook lint.

Is this correct?

Yup, that's the exact correct solution. In the 4.1 release, we'll be automatically adding the locale Open Graph tag based on your Joomla setting.. for now though, setting the default is correct. In all honesty, for now, it doesn't cause any problems if it's not there.. but no one likes warnings
