Alex,

When you say it, it makes sense that the register/login page is a necessity. So I will stop worrying about that.
There is one other thing I have noticed, I don't get the "new registered user" email anymore since I started with jfbconnect. Does it not have this feature?

Thanks
Adam

It should be definitely be sending the standard Joomla new user registered emails to both the admin, and the user that registered.

Can you tell me what your "Mailer" setting in the Global Configuration->Server area is? It should work with all, but we've heard of issues with Sendmail and SMTP server before. Either way, we can get it going for you, just may need more info and/or test.

Have you tried registering a new user to see if you get the user email?

Thanks,
Alex

I have tried to create a new user and I don't get the e-mail and also at least 2 have registered since yesterday and no e-mail but I do get the orders from virtuemart.

Mailer configuration from global->server:
Mailer: PHP mail function
Sendmail path: /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMTP Authentication: No
SMTP Security: None
SMTP Port: 25
SMTP Host: localhost

Thanks,
Adam

Not sure then. The emails should definitely be sent, as that's a crucial feature to any registration extension. Can you check the following things and let me know the answers. Most of these revolve around whether all of JFBConnect's registration process is happening properly. If not, it means that something else (a plugin, etc) is redirecting the user during the registration process or doing something else to interfere.
1) Is the new user redirection of JFBConnect working? Once they've created their account, they should go to the right page as configured in JFBConnect.
2) Do you have any User or System plugins meant to redirect the user after they've created a new account, are logging in the first time, or are logging in in general?
3) Once the account is created, if you use the Login With Facebook button, does it properly log the user in?

Let me know the answers. Worst case, if possible, we may need admin access to your site to debug further.

Thanks,
Alex

1: Yes the user redirection is "working" I have not set it up to redirect so it is directing people to the same page they were on.
2: I have no redirect plugin other that come with joomla and virtuemart but they are also set to the same page they were on.
3: Yes it does sign you in with no problem, I also set it up that if you are logged into facebook and have registered at the site you will be automaticly sign in and that works for me at least.

I do not get the admin mail for new user and the new user does not get the registration mail.

Thanks

Yup, at this point, if you're ok with it, can you private message me credentials to get into your site to debug what could possibly be preventing the emails from being sent? You can PM me by clicking the arrow under my picture (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Thanks, and sorry for the troubles,
Alex

Adam,
Thanks for the PM with the details. I went to the site and updated the email address for the admin account you created, then tried to create a new user with JFBConnect. I immediately received the below 2 emails:

User Email:

Halló Alex Sourcecoast,

Þakka þér fyrir að skrá þig á Lost.is.

Þú getur núna skráð þig inn á www.site.com/ með því notendanafni og lykilorði sem þú skráðir þig með.

Admin Email:

Halló Alex,

Nýr notandi hefur skráð sig á Lost.is.
Þessi tölvupóstur inniheldur þeirra upplýsingar:

Nafn: Alex Sourcecoast
Tölvupóstfang: <my email address>
Notendanafn: <my username>

Vinsamlegast ekki svara þessum skilaboðum þar sem þau eru gerð sjálfkrafa og eru einungis fyrir upplýsingar.

Not sure why you're not receiving these emails, but can you try again? I left my user setup to receive System Notifications, temporarily, so hopefully I'll see if I get a new user is created email.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
Ah I see, this seems to be my own fault here.

I disabled the default admin access and created a new one and seem to have forgotten to enable the receive system emails...

Sorry for the trouble :)
And thanks for all the help!

regards,
Adam

Adam,
No trouble at all. Frankly, we love the easy solutions over the ones that make us have to fix things :D

Hopefully everything's going really smoothly for you now, but if not, or you run into anything else, you know where to find us!

Finally, please consider leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory for JFBConnect, or our support. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated!

Best of luck to you and your site,
Alex
