No, you shouldn't have to at all. JomSocial uses the same authentication system as standard Joomla. JFBConnect logs you into standard Joomla, so when you connect, it should be logging you into both. If that's not the case, let us know.
Please ensure you've enabled both the JFBConnect plugins also.
