Anyone aware of any issues with using FBConnect and JoomFish on the same system? I've upgraded, today, to the latest version of FBConnect and everything was working fine. I then added in JoomFish in prep to go multilingual and I could not log into my site using FBConnect at all. The Facebook popup fails and the site loads the default "New User" registration page, even though the users being tested with are already members of the site and have used the Facebook login before.

Joomla - 1.15.23
FBConnect - 4.0.2
JoomFish - 2.1.7

No, haven't heard of that issue at all. We know of quite a few sites that use JoomFish with JFBConnect, including some that have already upgraded to JFBC v4.0

I honestly haven't played with JoomFish too much, but if there's a way to tell it to 'skip' URLs for JFBConnect, we'd definitely recommend doing that. Some extensions that mess with our URLs cause problems with our communication between your site and Facebook. Also, if you're using an SEF extension (not Joomla's built-in SEF), you should set that to skip JFBConnect as well for the same reason.

If you send us the URL for your site, we can take a look and let you know what we see. From what you describe, it's likely something we can diagnose from looking at the front-end HTML on your site.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the prompt reply. I've reactivate JoomFish. The url where I an using the "Login with Facebook" buttin is:

www.paranomicon.org/index.php?option=com...=frontpage&Itemid=41

When JoomFish is enabled, the login button does not render, only text and can't do anything.

The problem is the language that JoomFish is setting your site to use. en_AU is not one that Facebook supports. If you go to the Configuration - Facebook API tab in JFBConnect, you can specify the language that JFBConnect should use. Unfortunately though, if you hard-code it here, it won't translate automatically based on the user.

If you can configure JoomFish to use different languages, that would be better. In the Facebook API tab, there's a link to an XML file that shows all the languages Facebook supports.

Hope that helps, and good luck,
Alex

Thank you so much for looking into this, you're troubleshooting got me in the right direction where I was able to get it fixed. It appears that everything is working with JoomFish now. I can not thank you enough for your support and how you go above and beyond.

No problem for the help Steven. A great extension without great support.... is just another extension that may not work :)

Very glad we got you going, and good luck going multi-lingual!

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review on the Joomla Extension Directory for JFBConnect, or our support. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated!
