hello Alex

I'm under version 4.0 and want to upgrade to version 4.0.1 because it seem this can solve a conflict I have with another extension who use also FB wall post function...

I wondering if is possible in case of need to downgrade JFBconnect. I make daily backup of my site and can revert back at any time but this is for the full whole site. I want keep this possibility only in case of real emergency and not just for revert back to previous version of a specific component...

Using Akeeba Backup can help in some case but typically not with your component because your stuff install not only the component itself but also some other plugins and Akeeba are not able to revert back to previous version a multi-install addons...

thank

You can downgrade back to 4.0 or 4.0.1 if you need to. We would not recommend going back to a 3.x release as 1) there are some minor setting name changes from 3.x to 4.0 that will cause some issues and 2) it's not compatible with OAuth2, which Facebook will require in a week.

However, if you're running into conflicts, let us know what they are, and we can tell you if 4.0.2 would likely solve them, or if something else would be required. 4.0.2 does have some improvements for compatibility with other extensions that include the Facebook PHP library though, and other general improvements that we'd recommend upgrading for.

Hope that explains, and good luck,
Alex

Ok so I have upgraded to 4.0.2 but I get always a conflict...

The conflict happen with Jreviews: www.reviewsforjoomla.com/

This component allow to make review on listing page and permit if desired to publish the review on FB. The button who allow to publish a review was always available but since I upgraded to version 4.0 the button was no more displayed..

I tried to ininstall your component and all related plugins/module and after that the FB Jreviews button was displayed... So I tried to install again all stuff. I discover if I enable all stuff except JFB system plugin, the Jreview FB button is displayed....so the problem seem to come from the system plugin...

The developer of Jreviews told me his component and your working always fine until now and I can confirm that... The issue started after my recent version 4.0 upgrade..

Have you a suggestion please ?

Yes, we haven't had issues in the past with jReviews. However, in 4.0+, we updated both the PHP library for Facebook and how we initialize the Facebook Javascript Library. Both changes were made to support the OAuth2 authentication scheme that Facebook is requiring as of October 1st. If jReviews is still using an older PHP library or initializing the Javascript library the 'old' way, that could cause problems.

I don't know how they post to the wall, and don't have jReviews available. I can try to look into this sometime later this week, but don't know of any possible reasons or solutions right now.

If you want to contact them with the info above and ask how they're posting to the wall, that may get things started.

Thanks, and good luck,
Alex
