Topic-icon Any rules and plugins with Alpha UserPoints Component?

Hi,

I would like to add some user points in to alphaplug.com Alpha UserPoints Component when a user invites his / her friends from facebook using the invite module.
This way I will reward users for inviting their friends to my site.
Usually this is done by a plugin from the module that does the action to the Alpha UserPoints Component and a rule at the Alpha UserPoints Component site.
Is there something like that in JFBConnect?

Thanks in advance,

Manos

Not yet, but we're looking into creating a AUP plugin that will allow points for commenting, like'ing, joining a site (through Facebook), and invites. It hasn't been started yet, and I can't give a real timeline, but it's creeping higher into our priority list and would expect it over the next few months.

Hope that answers your question. We're also watching the status of AUP in general as the developer recently noted that he is looking to sell/get rid of AUP as he doesn't have time for it anymore... something to keep an eye on.

Yes, I know all about it. However it's a great component for the functionality it supports. When you say a few months, do you mean 2 or more like 5? Because I really need this functionality as soon as possible. You can understand why, looking at my site.

Thanks,

Manos,
I'd say more like 2 months. We're definitely shooting to have it out by the end of the year, and it actually sounds like a fun project and a good tool add-on for our users, so I think it will be sooner than later. However, with that said, I can't make any guarantee of timelines.

We'll definitely keep you posted, and thanks for the feedback,
Alex

Question: Is it possible, to add a piece of code, for the time being, that after the invites, to send an e-mail with at least the number of invites (if not also a list of the users invited), to a specific e-mail, so we can give the awarded points manually?

Thanks,

Manos

Any chance with that? I really need it.

Manos,
There's no way to tell how many invitations were sent. This is a limitation of Facebook, as they don't want user's to incentivize invitations for users.. they want them to be organic and by choice.

We can help you in other areas to add AUP integration, if necessary, but there are a lot of things that Facebook tries to prevent either by not making it available (number and who of invites) or strictly prohibits in their terms of service (incentivizing Likes, Invites, etc)

Hope that explains,
Alex

That's not entirely true. I used an application a few months ago (June 22) that did exactly that. That's the app: apps.facebook.com/xerolasbyvrisko/
They were doing a contest with a trip prize. And the app gave me points for inviting friends based on the number of friends I called via FB invite system.
You can go to my wall to verify it. (www.facebook.com/manos.mantzas) Look for (Ask to be my friend if you can not see it.):
Μόλις έστειλα προσκλήσεις στους φίλους μου για να αναμετρηθούν με τον XEROLA by vrisko.gr και ανέβασα την βαθμολογία μου!

Sorry for the Greek, it's a Greek app. You can use Google translation to understand what it says.
If they did it, there must be a way.
Also, apps.facebook.com/causes/ gives you pledges to invite a certain number of friends to a specific cause and keeps a track on how many friends you invite, again via the FB invite system. How do they do that?

Thanks and kind regards,

Manos

Try this (By the way, it's a great cause!): www.causes.com/causes/388597-stop-the-de...cruiter_id=176169109
Join this cause and try to invite your friends to see how it works.
