Hi,
When installing the component-"com_jfbconnect_j1.5_v4.0.1.tar", I get an error lookoing like this-ERROR: Could not install the JFBConnect Facebook Authentication Plugin. Please install manually.
So I inserted manually the two files that are inside JFBConnect Facebook Authentication Plugin- 1. jfbconnectauth.php 2. jfbconnectauth.xml.
in to FileZila in this path-public_html/plugins/authentication.
The plug in does not show on the joomla plug in manager.
in the installation process the FTP path wasn't verified, and I continued installing, knowing I would have to deal with this later. couls that have something to do with my problem?
and another question- can I save the JFB configuration effort bye "copy-paste" one website to the other? I tryed doing that and received an error.

For installing the plugin, you should first remove the two files you copied there. Then, use the Joomla installer to install the plugin (in it's tar'd format) from the /admin/packages folder. That will properly add it to Joomla. Copying it doesn't work.

Not sure why you run into that issue in the first place though, but it's possible it's because those files already existed.. but it wasn't installed properly before.

As for copying your configuration, we don't have a good way to do that, and copy/pasting from the database wouldn't work as there are multiple unique values per site that need to be different for each site. It's a good idea to have a way to 'merge' site settings, but just don't have any way to do that now.

Hi Alex,
The 2 files didn't existed before. In my enitial installation of the intire component I received an error saying the authantication plug-in installation was not succesful. Than I tried installing the plug in alone- and recevued the error above. Only than I tried copying the two files.
what did you mean by- install the plugin (in it's tar'd format) from the /admin/packages folder?

The plugin can be found in the main com_jfbconnect tar file. If you unzip it, it's in the /admin/packages directory in that compressed file.

If you try to install it from there, the error message for why it can't install will be from the Joomla installer, and will hopefully help us diagnose the reason for why it can't be installed.
