I have the same problem .When i try to link the joomla user with facebook acc i get ERROR 500 ....

ANY SOLUTION??

Need it quick!

What version of JFBConnect are you using? We haven't seen this issue since July (as can be seen from the forum post you responded too).

What is the 500 error (it says the page it was trying to reach). Also, what version of sh404SEF are you using? That may help us get to the bottom.

i am using the latest jfb connect and no special sh404sef .I am using joomla default sef

Can you post your URL so we can see the exact error, or PM us your site and a temp super admin account and we can really dig in to see where the issue might be coming from.

We've tried logging in, and when we do, we're simply left at the following page:

This is likely caused by not having the "New-user Redirect" set up in the admin area. Try setting that, and let us know. We aren't seeing the 500 error though.

HELP!!! The functionality in these fbconnect modules are exactly what I want...but I am having the hardest time getting them to work with my site. The formatting is awful and I am getting these same errors. In my Joomla backened - I am getting this error on the overview:

Facebook Application Information
Please check your Facebook Settings in the Configuration Tab
Visit the JFBConnect Product Page and JFBConnect Forum for more information.
Error Message: Session key invalid or no longer valid
JFBConnect Extension Check

HELP!!!

It sounds like your session key is not correct. Have you read through the installation sticky post and setup guide?

I reset the secret key and now that error has disappeared. I am having another problem, though. My user plugin has an x on it. It is supposed to have a plugin module to enable in the backend...There isnt one. I tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it - still an x. Obviously - my facebook connect doesn't work without this. After uninstalling the first time - I tried again - but also deleted all the folders and files that had jfbc on it. How do I make this work? I really would like to use this extension.

Two plugins should get installed when you install the component and they can be found here:
.../plugins/authentication/jfbconnectauth*
.../plugins/user/jfbconnectuser*

If you go in to Extensions -> Plugin Manager, try using the filter drop downs in the top right to only show authentication or user plugins. Also, make sure the State select box isn't set to only show enabled plugins.

Let me know what you find.
