Hi

I have recently created a new site and all seems good except for the fact that when I log out the site returns to the home page but the facebook button has disappeared. The text is there. Also the other jfbc modules on the page are not working.

For example:

{JFBCFan height=300 width=200 colorscheme=dark href=http://www.facebook.com/pages/FOXY/60815736618 show_faces=1 stream=1 header=1 border_color= key=XXX}
Powered By JFBConnect

I recently added the key. Is this the problem. My site is www.coling-online.co.uk

Thanks

Colin

Colin,
I removed your key from above. Not a big deal, but the idea is to keep it secret.

As for your issue, my guess is that you have the System - Cache plugin enabled. This plugin needs to be ordered highest/last to work properly with JFBConnect (and other plugins) as the Cache plugin takes a snapshot of the page and serves it up on subsequent requests. If the JFBConnect plugin hasn't loaded to "do it's thing", the snapshot won't contain everything it needs.

If that's not the problem, let us know, but I think it is :)

As for the key, that shouldn't be an issue at all.. however, I'm not sure why the border_color parameter isn't equal to anything. Is that the module you're using or are you directly adding the {JFBCFan ...} tag to the page?

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks I have removed the cache for the moment. On another note when I use either like or send the selected image is incorrect and I have no idea where the image is being rendered
I have set an og:image but that is not being used either
Any ideas?

Thanks

Colin,
The og:image tag looks correct on your page. The issue is likely that Facebook scans for updated Open Graph tags every 24-72 hours. If you just set the image tag and immediately Like'd it, it won't use that new setting. To refresh Facebook's cache right away, or to simply see what Facebook will see when it rescans, you can use their Debug tool on any pages you think may not be right:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

Hope that helps, but keep us posted on what you find,
Alex

Hi

I think the issue is when I use the send button. The images is still wrong. If I share from k2 then the open graph image I specified is displayed.

Thanks

Colin,
For the Like or Send button, the Open Graph image tag should be used. I'm seeing the behavior you describe by clicking into one of your articles and hitting send. I'm honestly not sure why this is occurring though. Can you confirm if this seems to be happening on all pages or not?

The linter/debug tool shows the right image. If you look at the docs for the send button, it explicitly says it uses the image tag. Not sure why it's not doing that for you:
developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/send/

We'll keep investigating, but if you come up with anything, or narrow it down further, definitely let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
