Horizontal login

Depending on what you're looking for, there's a few options. Unfortunately, our JFBCLogin module doesn't have a 'horizontal' switch, but hopefully one of the below will work for you:
1) Add a "Custom HTML" module to where those flags are. In that module, simply type {JFBCLogin}, and on the page, the Login With Facebook button will show. This won't have the 'normal' Joomla login form or register/forgot links.
2) Create a template override for the JFBCLogin module and change it to be more horizontal. The JFBCLogin template file isn't pretty right now.. it's due for an overhaul, so this may not be super simple, but it gives a lot of flexibility. There are a few other options depending on what you're willing to do or specifically looking for, but hopefully the above gets you started. If not, let us know some more specifics of all you want shown, and we can come up with some ideas for you.

I've never seen that module, but it looks like you can use it with any login module, including JFBConnect. In fact, the 3rd review down actually talks about a user doing just that with our extension (by Kwindo):

It's a wrapper so you can use it with login modules other then the default Joomla one. I use it with the JFBConnect login module and it works like a charm in Joomla 1.5.

So, if you like the looks of that, and it does what you need, I'd say go that route. Again, I haven't used that extension, but hopefully it's as easy as you say. If not, or you need anything else, just let us know.
