Tristan,
The URL you're pointing to is a personal profile. While the JFBCFan/Like-Box module has been updated to take an href, it still requires an href to a valid Facebook Page (not a profile) to work.

I know when we helped you before you had a full "Facebook Page" with the ID 47354853052 (I looked it up). Hopefully you can still use that, or have a different Page you want, but the current profile page you're pointing to won't. Additionally, Facebook will disable that personal profile account if it's not using a real name and it's more of a company presence. That's what Pages are for, and they don't want personal profile pages to be used for that type of thing.. just so you know.

Good luck,
Alex

Hi Alzander
Thanks again for the great support! It is working now. And thanks for the additional information - I will inform the client about the rule for personal page.

Cheers
Tristan

No problem for the support, it's what we do. We love hearing that we've made our user's happy, but also please consider letting others know by leaving a rating on the Joomla Extension Directory. It definitely helps us out:

Good luck, and as always, if you need anything else, just let us know!

Hi. I also get the box with the text "Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in.". The href link is www.facebook.com/groups/Afnord/

Shouldn't groups be able to use the fan module ?

No, groups can't use the Fan/Like-box module. That's a restriction by Facebook, not by JFBConnect. Earlier this year, Facebook started to phase out most groups and recommended Group page admins to start using Facebook Pages instead. They specifically don't create any tools for showing Group information on websites simply because they want people to use Pages instead which have a lot of support for cross-site content.

Hope that helps explain, even if it's not the answer you're looking for.

Hi,
I do not understand this at all.
I have a "facebook page" (maybe something you call profile) www.facebook.com/kuenstlerkreiskaleidoskop .
I have successfully installed JFBCFan Box and I have created a Facebook App for API connect with ID 173620399392981.
My Homepage is www.kk-kaleidoskop.de
So what do I have to enter in the Fanbox URL slot to display this fancy box content instead of the error message?

Best Regards

Markus

Markus,
The URL you linked to is a Facebook Profile, not a Facebook Page. Profiles are for people to communicate with their friends. A Facebook Page is a place for people to get information about a brand, topic, or something similar. A Profile has 'friends'. A Page has people who Like it.

The Fanbox only works with Facebook Pages. To create a Page, you can visit the URL below:
www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

It's definitely confusing, but hope that helps explain,
Alex
