I do have PHP 5.2.17, Joomla 1.5.23, Jomsocial 2.2.3 and this is a brand new website. Many others have had similar errors, but the only fix that I have seen is to have PHP 5 minimum. Here it the error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home2/my_site/public_html/dev/components/com_community/helpers/image.php on line 898

thank you,
Ralph

com_community is JomSocial, not JFBConnect. When do you see this error? Is it during JFBConnect registration or login, or while doing something else? From what you describe though I don't think it's a JFBConnect issue. If PHP is having problems parsing that file (what the error says), then that's not an execution problem, it's a coding issue with that file.

You may want to try re-installing JomSocial, but beyond that, I'm not sure I have many great ideas on how to solve that specific problem.

Keep me posted on what you find/see.

Thanks,
Alex

Well yes it is definitely a Jomsocial file. I have had absolutely no issues before loading JFBConnect. I will reload, but I have a hard time believing that this file is the issue. Nothing has been modified. If I log in with the Joomla login, everything is perfect. If I login with the Yootheme login, there are also no problems. I will reload and let you know soon.
Thanks,
Ralph

Okay the reload shows the same issue. I was able to solve it though. If I change the JFBConnect login to login with Joomla instead of Jomsocial, then it works fine. I will be leaving it like this for now since I can't afford any troubleshooting time to try and figure out why. You should check it out yourself with a fresh copy of Jomsocial 2.2.3 or better.
Thanks,
Ralph

Ralph,
Sorry you're having the issue. I'm a little confused as to what's causing the problem, and your solution though. Are you saying that you simply change the setting in the JFBCLogin module to use Joomla instead of JomSocial, and that fixes things? All that setting does is change where the Register for this Site and Forgot Password links go to. It doesn't affect the actual Facebook registration process at all.

We definitely test with JomSocial 2.2.3 and haven't heard of this issue before, so it's hard for us to make much progress without seeing it in action. If you want to PM me any more details about your site, or an admin account to see your configuration, we'd gladly look into it further. If you're interested in the types of automated testing we do (just to give you a little more confidence that I'm not just blowing smoke about our testing), check out this quick video which shows a portion of the testing we perform before each release, and when updated versions of the extensions we integrate with are released:

Thanks again for your feedback. We will be testing more, but if you can help clarify the exact setting that fixes the issue for you, that'd help a lot!
Alex

I apologize. I did not mean to sound like I thought that you did not test properly. What I meant was that both Jomsocial and your product are both fresh out of the box and there is definitely and issue. It is currently working, but I am starting testing of my own this week so if the current setup won't work for me then I may need your help again.
Thank you,
Ralph

Ralph,
No worries, didn't think you were accusing us of anything. Just like to point out the excessive testing we do :)

We're testing the next release right now for a new JFBConnect release soon (with JomSocial 2.2.3). Could you clarify how you're fixing the issue though so we're sure we're testing properly? From what you said, it sounds like simply changing the "Registration Component" setting in the Login module is all your switching. If it's something else, please let us know. We'll let you know what we find!

Definitely keep us posted with your further testing as to any issues (related to this or not) that you find.

Thanks,
Alex
