Hi,

I can't get comment plugin to work properly. When user logs in using module - he can leave comments to the article, everything work fine. But if user trying to log in and make a comment using drop-down menu (the on that says Facebook, Yahoo, AOL..) - nothing happens. Here is the link - artforculturaldiplomacy.com/meridian/about-us#twoj_fragment1-3. Please HELP!

Best regards.

When you click the "Comment using" and select AOL, Yahoo, etc, a pop-up should appear asking for your credentials to that service. If you have any pop-up blockers enabled, please disable them. Also, try from a different browser, as that my help you see the correct behavior.

I just tested on your page, using Google Chrome on Windows 7 and the login pop-ups for each of the 4 selections came up just fine.

Hope this helps,
Alex

Hi Alex. Thank you for quick reply.
The pop-up window is appearing fine. All troubles starts after user types in username / password and clicks login button. White screen in pop-up window and no comments on article.

Best.

Meridian,
I dusted off my old hotmail account, and posted a comment to the page you linked to above. I didn't have any issues with it. Can you tell me more about your configuration, and try something else as well? I tested with Chrome on Windows 7. If you can test another browser (at least) or another computer (at best), that will really help.

In general, we haven't heard of any issues with posting from other accounts, and honestly, if there are, there may not be much we can do about it as that functionality is mostly controlled on Facebook's side, not ours.

Hope this helps, and good luck,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks again.

I tested with FF 3, IE8, Chrome on PC; Safari and FF on Mac. With all of them i'm getting same result - empty Facebook pop-up window and no comment on the page ( artforculturaldiplomacy.com/images/comments.jpg ).

In my configuration I enabled "Display API Errors On Front-End:" option and now I'm getting error in Facebook pop-up window. - ( artforculturaldiplomacy.com/images/error_code.jpg )

Any thoughts?

Best.

Meridian,
We're really confused about this issue. From every combination of browsers and OS, on your page, we're able to log in with an account and post a message. We only left one message, but the rest, after the pop-up appears it goes away properly and the comment box is ready for our message.

Do you have common virus software, firewalls, or anything else common to the computers or connect you have that could be part of the problem? We really just can't recreate this which makes it tough for us to diagnose.

Another thing to try is on our demo page. I just changed it's setting to allow comments from other providers. Would love to know if you have the same problem there or not:

Thanks, and keep us posted on what you find,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Looks like you're right. I can't leave the comment on your demo page. I'll check my firewall settings.

Thanks, I'll keep you posted.

Hi Alex, It's me again,

I just tried to leave a comment from 3 different internet connection with at least 3 browsers from each connection. I tried to leave the comment using plugin on my dev website and on your demo website. Same result, it's only works if you login with module, but not from plugin drop-down menu. Is there any specific browser option should be "on" to make the plugin work properly?

Best.
