Hi,

From time to time I get this problem on the forum page of my website - www.play-guitar.sg
This started to happen after installing JFBConnect. I am using the facebook log-in.
Please help to resolve this, thanks.

Pier.

Are there any sections of your forums that are for registered users only? In the 3.x series of JFBConnect, if you have it set to leave the user on the current page when logging out, and it happens to be a registered only page, in some cases you can get the redirect error. In 4.0 (coming next week), we have a fix for this.

If it's happening at times other than logging out, please try to explain more if there's any common steps (being logged in, not logged in, navigating to certain pages, etc) that may cause this to happen more often. That will help us figure it out more.

Finally, what version of Kunena are you using and what SEF extension are you using (or is that Joomla's default SEF)? Those answer may also help us narrow it down.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Most of the time it happens like this : I log-in using Facebook, then I close the browser. The next time (maybe a few hours later) I go to my home page and click on the forums it gives me the redirection error. Sometimes it doesn't happen.

I'm using Kunena 3.2.2. SEF is Joomla's default SEF. See the attachment for my settings.
Ok I tried setting the log-out to be redirection to the home page, will let u know how it goes.

Thanks.

Pier.

Pier,
From your description, I'm assuming you have the "Automatically login Facebook users" setting enabled as well. While this shouldn't be a problem, that's another thing to try to disable.

As for Kunena, can you tell me the version of it that you're using. The 3.2.2 is likely the version of our integration plugin for it, not the version of Kunena, which should be 1.6.5 or 1.5.14 or something similar.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Kunena would be 1.5.6.
I just got the error again, so trying again with "Automatically login Facebook users" disabled.

Pier,
My guess would actually be the version of Kunena you're using. 1.5.4 was released in October of 2009, and the newest release is 1.5.14. In those 10 releases, there have been hundreds of bugfixes and dozens of security fixes. We do testing with 1.5.13 (November 2010) and 1.5.14 (January 2011). I'm not sure if that's the cause, but it's my best guess. This is in addition to support for the 1.6 series of Kunena which works with Joomla 1.5 and 1.6.

A simple way to test this (if the redirect issue is pretty common) is to simply disable the Kunena Profile Plugin and test for a bit. While that won't guarantee it's your Kunena version (it still could be our plugin), it's tough for us to diagnose the issue further when there's so much of a difference between your version of Kunena and the latest.

Hope this helps get you started and and helps you narrow down the issue.

Thanks,
Alex
