I have created my invite module in a lightbox that opens from the main page and shows either the log in button or the fb invite page. In my prep work I was planning that once logged in it would go straight to the invite module in the same lightbox but as it is it is not going to the welcome url I have specified in the module.

All it is doing is going to the home page and it is not really working for me.

Any suggestions? I have cleared cache and cookies many times as I was testing this. Even checked the welcome link i specified was valid. it is..

if anybody has any suggestions it would be most appreciated.

thanks in advance.

After totally going into this I have decided that it is not entirely what I am after. This is sending an invite to the App I have created. I am just after sending a like invite to multiple people. So when the notification comes up it says like not accept app.

Is this a possibility?

Cheer in advance

The invite module will send an invite to your user's as a notification in Facebook. If they accept the notification, it will take then to the page specified in the Invitee Welcome Page parameter. This should be the full URL to your site, as specified above, including http://www.

If that's not what's happening, please enable the module on a sub-page or other area of your site so we can see the code that's generated and we can look into it further.

I'm not really sure what you mean by a "Like Invite".. if you can explain more, that may help as well.

Thanks,
Alex

Sure mate, Thanks for replying.

As i understand this module as you mention sends a notification to users and then forwards to a specified url. The thing is I dont really want to promote my website as much as I want to promote my FB Page. And how I plan to do this is to have an invite module from the website to go to the FB page and automatically like it. Once I get my likes up I can do some good marketing from there!

You can do a similar thing from facebook by clicking on the invite friends link from the facebook fan page. It sends the invite as a suggestion to like.

My plan is to have a prize for people that send 30+ invites to friends in turn raising the number of likes and making our marketing reach much better.

What I have played with so far only sends a notification for the application to users and does not really complete what I am after.

If you have any suggestions that I could possibly use here please let me know.

The send button from the like module is close but all I need is to have the list of friends come up that you can select and that would be gold!

Thanks again for any time you spend on this.

Cheers

I don't believe the current JFBCInvite module can forward to a Facebook Page. I'll have to look into it more, but I'm pretty sure Facebook only allows us to forward to the a page on website the specified in your application.

We're investigating upgrading to the new Requests 2.0 system, which will allow invites like you're mentioning, but this won't be until the 4.1 release (4.0 is scheduled for later this month).

As for 4.0 though, we'll have some cool features for Pages, where you can show your website (or certain pages of it) on your Page itself. In addition, we've implemented Peel Page functionality, where you can show a specific article to user's who haven't Like'd your page.. and it won't let them continue to the rest of your site without Liking the FB page first.

So, at the end of this month, hopefully we'll be able to help you get more Like's for your Page, like you're looking for, but it won't be directly through invites. For the next big release, we're already shooting for an improved/overhauled/revised invitation system that, when combined, may do everything you're looking for.

Hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, just let us know!
