Hi,

Please take a look at facecrooks.com. We are using K2 component to render the homepage. We are currently using another extention for the "like" and "share" buttons located after the blog introductions. What code and where would we place it to replace the current extension with jfbconnect facebook like and send buttons?

Thanks,
Tim

Tim,
We're planning to put up a rough guide on how to do this in the near future. Additionally, JFBConnect 4.0 (due out later this month) has K2 settings, similar to the Joomla content plugin settings, to automatically insert Like and Comment boxes into K2 content, category views, and other areas automatically which will fix the issue up nice and tidy.

If you can wait for that, that would definitely be our recommendation, since it's simple and you won't need to modify your template files twice. If not, let us know, and we'll get a guide out sooner than later.

Finally, just so you know, the Share button was deprecated by Facebook in February of this year. We no longer directly support it as there are numerous cases (and growing) of conflicts between the Share button and Facebook's own Javascript library for other features (authentication, Like, Comments, etc). They strongly recommend all users move from the Share button to Like buttons (with Open Graph tags) instead, which has the same, or more, functionality.

Hope that helps explain, and let us know if there's anything more you need from us right now!

Actually, just re-read.. your topic says Like & Send, but the post says Like and Share. To clarify, the K2 functionality we're adding will be for Like/Send and Comments. The stuff I said about Share is still valid.. just not sure if that's what you were really looking for.

Thanks,
Alex
