you need to create an application under facebook.com/developers, that will provide you with the keys you need that you then enter into the joomla backend jfbconnect configuration

globizhost,
Facebook just (2 days ago) updated their Facebook Developers area. There no longer is a Facebook API key that you can see. However, please put the Application ID into both the App ID and API Key fields for now.

In the next release, we'll be removing that field, but for now, something needs to be in there.

We're in the process of updating the documentation and images in our configuration guide. Sorry for the confusion.

We just updated the guide to include images from the old and new guide. Frankly, the page is a little confusing now, and we'll be refining that over the next few days, but if you're still having issues, hopefully you can get the help you need from our config guide.

We'll remove the 'old' instructions soon, once it seems like everyone's accounts been upgrade to the new interface.

Yes, that's where the API Key, Secret Key, and App Key can usually be found. However, Facebook is updating their developer area, and if you're seeing the API key, it actually means you're on the 'old' version.

In the 'new' version, slowing rolling out to all users, the API is missing. In the next release (version 4.0), we're removing the input for the API key, but until then, we still require something in that field.. so if someone reads this and is using the 'new' developer area, please put the App ID into the API Key and App Id fields in JFBConnect.

Thanks for your feedback and information about your experience!
