Topic-icon Overriding any OpenGraph defaults causes facebook linter to show error

If I set any defaults for OpenGraph tags in the defaults box in the config section for my site, when I use the facebook linter on an article I get the error:

"You failed to provide a valid list of administrators. You need to supply the administrators using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag or a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users."

If the defaults box is left blank, I don't get this error.

Sample URL:

www.music-scene.biz/index.php/component/...62-events-management

Defaults set to:

type=company
site_name=Music Scene

Hmm. Haven't seen that error before, but to fix, try adding the following default to the Open Graph area:
app_id=210936778942031
That's your application ID and should take care of it. We already have the code implemented for the next release of JFBConnect to automatically add the app_id, for good measure. Even more glad we're adding it now if they're going to throw that ugly error message if it's missing.

Hope that helps, but if not, let us know!

That appears to have sorted it :) Now, is there any way to have the og:description set to the article content (before the read more break) from the defaults, rather than having to set og:description for every article?

Glad to hear that fixed that issue. As for the description, if you don't set a default, we'll automatically set it to whatever the standard meta description for the page is. This can be set in the article manager for each article, and there are also plugins out there that can automatically set the meta description based on the first 'x' chars of the article or something similar.

Hope that helps and is what you're looking for.. if not, or you have suggestions to improve things, let us know!

Brilliant! I found SEOSimple which does the job beautifully. I'll put up a separate post with a couple of suggestions, but otherwise, great suite!
